We are always fascinated by life's immanent power. There is always magic everyday the sun shines. However, we are too busy noticing those. We are so preoccupied on how to make a living that we fail to recognize what makes life. Fortunately we are blessed to have Zachary, Xandrei and recently Ylize (10.26.12). They showed us the philosophy of diapers, the power of similac, the intricacies of wipes and the uselessness of the pacifier.

Savoring Saturday
Mom is off today. After a couple of hours of resting we decided to go to Kemah for a walk and to buy some fresh fish.
It’s been hot the whole day and the site of the Cool Zone freshens you up. The kids enjoyed the parading boats, dancing fountain, cool breeze, the newly renovated playground, and of course the train ride.
For unknown reason, we know what happens during fireworks, yet, we continue to watch it. Perhaps its unpredictability why we continue to squeeze ourselves through those sweaty bodies.
Not eating before coming to Kemah is one thing that you should not do. That is what happened to us. We ended up grabbing some food from Wendys’. (baked potato and beans).
As usual Coco and Zach dived directly to their beds once we got home.
I stayed until 1 pm for the Lethal Weapon 4 and ended up sleeping downstairs. Woke up at 9 this am.

The Y Culture
Call it forcible exercise, but if that is what it takes to lower my sugar and control my blood pressure, I have not complaints. However, I call it responsible parenthood. Unlike other past summers, this year seemed to lean towards Zach and Coco’s welfare. Unmistakably, the two kids are growing up, and they need to get other skills aside from web surfing and tv scanning. The best part is, I get to prove to myself that I needed this also.
So, the 4 of us, are the newest family to try to be cool with the Y culture.
This morning, for the first time, I was able to log in 300 calories and 2.75 miles. Not bad, considering the fact that my muscles are still in pain from the previous work out.
Unlike workingout at home, at the Y, there were a lot of things that could encourage you to workout. I’m talking about the elderly who show no sign of giving up. There was even this couple in their 80s, whose wife is a great inspiration.
I know, but don’t jinx it, ok?

Helpmates at Eight
Looking back eight years ago, I haven’t imagine celebrating our wedding anniversary far from Manila. There was no plans of going somewhere else. My heart and mind were set in the land I love…the Philippines.
But here we are, blessed with the opportunity to see other cultures, and more blessed to see happy faces of blessed people with our two kids, Zach and Coco.
Frankly, we didn’t imagine that, nor put all those things in blue print to be carefully executed.
Marriage and family are two different strokes of life. Perfect balancing is not the key, but the grace and blessings from God to keep the two in perfect sync.
One thing I have learned for a couple of years as a husband and a father is that you don’t have to take your role seriously. keep it light but store the light moments and fun part deep in your memory. Retrieve it whenever necessary.
What about the romance? Don’t ever forget new style. Not the one that you are thinking, though. But lately, I was poor in this department.
Eight is great. Without pre-empting next year’s celebration, I wonder where we would be? Somewhere cheap but lovely.
Happy Anniversary, Ga!
